#9 in Mali?!!!!

After an issue App Annie, the free analytics  service, was having that necessitated having to reset my Apple developer password, I just happened to look at the rankings page for my apps.  Much to my surprise, Cloud Runner had achieved a rank of #9 for all arcade games in Mali (and #57 overall!) on September 19, 2011!  Now, I'm not going  to lie and say I was an expert on all things Mali (Malinese?) as I had to look it up on Wikipedia just to find out where it was on a map (it's near Algeria and Niger). To the people of Mali, I thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy my games. It's kind of crazy and definitely cool that there are people on the other side of the world playing my games.

I've been busy at work but I do have an idea for a new game... ;)

Cloud Runner - Update Coming Soon!

I just submitted an update (1.1) for my free game, Cloud Runner, to Apple.  Hopefully, it will be approved and live in a week.


New in 1.1:
- 3 in-game achievements!
- 10 new "Game Over" messages from the leprechaun!
- Retro-style jump animation added! 


To toggle between the original jump animation and the new retro jump animation, tap the leprechaun on the main menu screen.

I just finished uploading my third iOS game, Sort This!, to Apple for approval.  Hopefully, in about a week, it will be approved and available for download.  Best of all, it will be FREE!  Here's the description/screenshots I sent to Apple:

* Drag the shape in the center circle to the matching color zone.

* For every correct match, the score multiplier increases by 1.  * For every miss, the score multiplier drops back to 0.

* You have 20 seconds to get the amount of matches needed per round.

* After every round, the amount of matches needed increases by 1.

* After every 4 rounds, you play a Bonus Round.

Hi, I'm Jeff Shimane.  Welcome to my app development blog!

Ever since I first played games like Asteroids in the arcades as a kid, I've always dreamed of developing my own games.  I've been playing video games and computer games seemingly all my life but on March 18th, I stumbled upon GameSalad and my dream came true.  I have since created two iOS games, Pot of Gold and Cloud Runner, on the App Store.  I'm currently working on number three and hope to have it done in about 6 weeks (I'll post some screenshots and videos when it's a little further along).

It's been a lot of work but also a lot of fun!  Please check them out and let me know what you think.
